Residential roofing
The shingle grade you pick outlives the color.
We carry several grades, including Class 3 and Class 4 impact-rated shingles, and we'll tell you straight which one fits your roof and your budget.
Not every roof needs the same shingle
A standard shingle and a Class 4 impact-rated shingle can look almost identical from the curb, and cost very differently to insure over the next fifteen years. We stock several grades rather than one house line, from standard architectural shingles up through the hail-graded, impact-rated products, and we walk you through what each one actually buys before you sign anything. The right choice depends on how exposed the roof is, how steep the pitch is, and what you're trying to solve for: lowest install cost, longest life, or the best insurance treatment. Most of the time it's some mix of all three, and we'll say so rather than steering you to whatever's sitting in the warehouse.
What happens before the crew shows up
We look at the existing roof, talk through the grade options against your budget, and settle on a shingle before a single pallet gets delivered. Decking gets checked once the old covering is off, same as every re-roof we do, and anything soft gets replaced before the new shingle goes down.

The technical part
What Class 3 and Class 4 actually test
These are impact ratings, not style names, and they're worth understanding before you pick one.
A shingle earns its class rating in a lab, not on your roof. It's struck at a set speed under standardised test conditions, and the mat underneath is checked for cracking. Four classes exist. We carry Class 3 and Class 4, the two that matter for hail country.
Class 4 is the top rating. It takes the hardest strike in the test without the mat cracking, and it's the rating most Oklahoma home insurers pay attention to when they price a policy.
What it doesn't buy is a shingle that looks untouched after a storm. Hail can still mark the surface and knock granules loose on a Class 4 roof. What the rating actually protects is the mat underneath, the layer that keeps water out even when the surface takes a hit.
- Class 3
- Meets the impact standard, priced below Class 4.
- Class 4
- The top rating. Takes the hardest strike without the mat cracking.
Most Oklahoma home insurers discount the premium on an impact-rated roof, because hail claims are one of the biggest costs they carry in this state. What that discount is actually worth depends on your insurer and your policy, so we won't quote you a number here, that's a conversation for you and your agent. What we can tell you is whether the grade difference is worth carrying on your specific roof, and we will.
